As a Property Manager, you will be responsible for supporting a variety of tenants in multiple City of Calgary facilities as the liaison between customers and the Facilities business unit. You will work proactively to identity and address tenant needs and communicate with occupants regarding any issues, initiatives, and expectations that impact tenancy and site operations. Primary duties include:
  • Manage relationships for Service Level Agreements (SLA) with clients. 
  • Research best practices related to site management services. 
  • Develop and implement procedures and ensure provision of site management services such as landscaping, janitorial services, and parking. 
  • Coordinate services provided by Facilities and support multiple tenants. 
  • Assist external contractor administration including developing Requests for Proposals (RFP), selecting vendors, and monitoring contracts. 
  • Assist with developing FO standards and provide an operational perspective on a variety of projects. 
  • Participate in facility and site planning including reviewing new space and/or renovation proposals and confirming that proposals align with Facilities standards. 
 
Qualifications 
  • A completed 2 year diploma in engineering technology, business administration or related construction or facility related with at least 5 years of relevant experience including contract administration. 
  • Working knowledge of applicable legislation (such as the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Alberta Building Code, and Alberta Environment Act) is required. 
  • Access to a personal vehicle for business use and a valid Class 5 (or provincial equivalent) driver's licence is required. 
  • A professional designation such as a Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Certified Property Manager (CPM), Facilities Management Administrator (FMA), Real Property Administrator (RPA) will be considered an asset. 
  • A Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation will be considered an asset. 
  • Experience with property management for high-rise office towers would be an asset. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated customer focus. 
  • You are able to adapt to high-stress situations and constantly changing priorities. 
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate as part of a team. 
  • Ability to obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit. 
 
Pre-employment Requirements 
  • A security clearance will be conducted. 
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
 
Pre-employment Drug Test: An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on an applicant passing a pre-employment drug test. This test assesses for use of drugs including cannabis.
