As a Wellbeing Administrator with Emergency Management & Community Safety (EMCS) you will coordinate mental health and wellness resources for the business unit. You will support business unit staff by providing information regarding resources available and coordinate the business unit's peer support, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), Corporate Psychological Safety and wellness data management programs. Primary duties include:

  • Coordinate resources that encourage all EMCS staff to adopt wellness practices that proactively promote good mental health and resiliency.
  • Offer supports to help respond to issues that could affect employee's health or lead to potential injury or illness.
  • Coordinate work groups including Peer Support, Critical Incident Stress Management, and the Corporate Psychological Safety Task Force.
  • Research and support the development of proactive and reactive programs/initiatives surrounding employee wellness, in consultation with Corporate Wellness.
  • Liaise with corporate health and wellness group on corporate resources and keep informed for best practices.
  • Maintain the EMCS mental health resource inventory, research best practices in mental health programming in similar organizations.
  • Collect, analyze and deliver performance measurement data, consolidate data for program evaluation.
  • Analyze trends and recommend program deliverables.
  • Promote existing practices and support reviews of new practices for the business unit's wellness program.
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure the business unit is aligned with internal and industry standard wellness practices.
  • Collaborate and liaise with the corporate Health and Wellness team to align practice, direction and mandate.
 
Qualifications 
  • A completed 1 year certificate and at least 5 years of related experience, OR;
  • A completed 2 year diploma and at least 3 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge and/or experience working in emergency response is preferred.
  • A strong understanding of mental health, wellbeing, and psychological safety.
  • Training in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), Suicide Intervention (ASIST), or training/certification in mental health and wellness will be an asset.
  • Experience working within a paramilitary environment in a large multi-union organization will also be an asset.
  • Well-developed communication and organization skills and a strong customer focus.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others and use good judgement skills to make decisions that require some analysis and interpretation of critical medical information.

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day 
work week with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle. 
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
