As a Senior Corporate Consultant in Corporate Planning & Performance (CPP), you will report directly to the Director, CPP and provide leadership for projects, people, and issues as needed across all divisions in the Business Unit, including Business Planning, Performance Measurement and Reporting, Service Improvement, Enterprise Risk Management, and Corporate Economics and Regulatory Affairs. You will work with partners across The City to ensure priority work meets leadership expectations and organizational requirements. Your duties will vary with business needs and are expected to include: 

  • Provide temporary coverage for vacant Leader positions.
  • Lead high impact projects from inception to implementation, including developing project charters, evaluating proposals, managing risks, and communicating with partners.
  • Support the Director and Business Unit leadership team to deal with emerging issues, which are typically high profile, complex, and politically sensitive.
  • Research and write compelling reports, presentations, and other materials for various audiences, including Council, the Executive Leadership Team, and senior leaders from across the organization.
  • Assist senior staff in building and managing relationships with interested parties at all levels of the organization from front-line staff to executive leaders.
 
Qualifications 
  • A master's degree in a related field and at least 8 years of directly relevant experience in business planning, performance reporting, service improvement, public policy analysis or related areas in large public sector organizations. 
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered. 
  • Formal or informal supervisory or leadership experience will be considered an asset. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills are required, with an established record of collaboration across diverse internal partner groups.
  • Strong communication skills, critical thinking, ability to work in a highly politicized environment, project team leadership, knowledge of public policy and management, and public and business acumen are required.
  • Experience in dynamic, fast-paced environments is essential.

Compensation: Level F $94,168 - 144,228 per annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
