As the Team Lead, BI and Data Governance for Water Services, you will manage a team of data specialists who deliver data-driven insights and solutions for Water Services. These solutions will help measure the operational performance and uncover insights that will enable ongoing improvement opportunities within the organization. You will be the data steward for Water Services, create data governance policies and procedures, and work with cross-functional teams across the organization to discover new data insights that can be leverage in Water Services. Primary duties include:

 

  • Mentor and grow the team to improve data analytics and data governance practices. This includes hiring, mentoring, developing, training, setting goals, and managing performance of the team in a psychologically safe environment that aligns with corporate values.
  • Develop and maintain data platforms, dashboards, and reports that provide actionable insights and recommendations for Water Services.
  • Manage the delivery of data projects and initiatives for Water Services, from business case development to project close out, including project budgets, data design, data collection, integration, analysis, visualization, and reporting.
  • Implement data quality checks, validations, and audits to ensure that the data across Water Services is reliable, precise, and complete. Produce supporting artifacts, or process, that support data definitions, metadata, data lineage, data pipeline, and data access.
  • Coordinate with other Business Units (BU) to verify the usage of data from their systems into water services BI products or validate the use of Water Services Data for other BU¿s BI products.
  • Map KPI or BI measurements to Business Process steps in the Water Service process repository.
  • Explore ways to use data for operational enhancements in Water Services by initiating projects or prototypes that adopt emerging trends in advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. 
 
Qualifications 
  • A degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of relevant utility (or similar organization) experience with increasing responsibility, from which 3 years must be of managing cross-functional teams related to performance metrics or influencing/supporting strategy implementation of large enterprise data strategies.
  • Success in this position requires strong leadership, project management, data architecture, data querying and transformation tools & languages skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, organization and planning skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and work in a team setting.

Compensation: Level F $94,168 - 144,228 per annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
