As an Investigative Support Worker, Homicide, you  will help sworn Investigators allowing them to focus on investigative tasks. You also take part in investigative briefing and debriefings as well as file and court updates. Primary duties include:

  • Help with interview and video (CCTV) summaries highlighting key points. This could include crime scene locations, Body Worn/In car camera, relative CCTV canvased related to suspect or victim activity surrounding homicide investigations.
  • Complete summaries of witness and accused interviews.
  • Check documents for investigative files for court disclosure.
  • Locate and contact low risk witnesses to arrange for subpoena service.

Working Conditions: Exposure to graphic and disturbing information.
 
Qualifications 
  • A minimum of 4 courses in police science and a minimum of 10 years of experience as a police officer working in major crimes and special investigations as an investigator.
  • Advanced knowledge of investigation protocols and strong attention to detail is required.
  • Success in this position requires strong analytical thinking skills, change management, coaching and development and efficiency and thoroughness. An effective communicator with a focus on results and the ability to build strong relationships.

 
 
Pre-employment Requirements 
  • An enhanced security clearance and pre-employment polygraph will be conducted.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.
