Recreation and Social Programs is seeking client-focused, enthusiastic individuals for their Fair Entry Program. As a Fair Entry Administrator, you will provide face-to-face interaction with vulnerable Calgarians applying for The City of Calgary's low-income subsidy programs. Primary duties include: 
  • Document confidential client information in the Subsidy Assistance Management System (SAMS) database. 
  • Provide referrals and information to vulnerable clients who display complex needs. 
  • Communicate the range of City and community subsidy programs and services that are relevant to the client's needs. 
  • Mediate disputes with customers, appropriately deal with threats, and de-escalate hostile clients. 
  • Identify and contribute towards system improvements that will result in a more effective and efficient program for staff and clients. 
  • Train new staff on the SAMS database and Corporate and program-specific policies and processes.
 
Qualifications 
  • A completed 2 year diploma in Human Services, or a related field, and at least 1 year of experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and previous experience working in complex database applications is required.
  • Formal training in crisis de-escalation is required.
  • Training in cultural awareness is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of City of Calgary subsidized programs will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service and conflict resolution, decision making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, sensitivity, and the ability to prioritize work in a high volume and fast paced environment.

  • A security clearance will be conducted.

Compensation: Pay Grade 7 $33.33 - 44.60 per hour 
Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day 
work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle. 
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
