As a Weight Room Monitor, you will oversee the safety of weight room participants and basic maintenance of equipment and weight room program space. Primary duties include:
Ensure safety of participants.
Light cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment and program space.
Maintain written records if required.
Provide first aid to customers as needed.
Ensure proper usage of weight room equipment by customers and assist customers with equipment as required.
Provide weight room orientations to new customers.
Qualifications
Non-Certified monitors must be a minimum of 16 years of age and have experience in weight training and equipment maintenance.
Certified monitors must be a minimum of 18 years of age and must possess a related certification such as: Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association (AFLCA) certification in Exercise Theory and/or Resistance Training.
Success in this position requires excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
Pre-employment Requirements
Current Intermediate First Aid certification (equivalent to Standard First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) level "C", and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)) is required.
A valid Security Clearance must be provided. Date of completion must be within the last 12 months.
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Compensation: Non-Certified: $15.00 - 19.00 per hour;
Certified: $19.00 - 24.00 per hour
Days of Work: This position works various shifts
including daytime, evenings, and weekends.
Hours of work: On-Call hours will vary based on
operational requirements.
